Call for Abstracts
The next call for abstracts will open in Spring 2026.

You are invited to prepare an extended abstract for presentation at the 2026 AI in Health Conference brought to you by The Ken Kennedy Institute at Rice University.

Artificial intelligence, data, and computing are the cornerstone of progressive health applications shaping the future of healthcare and public health. Take advantage of the opportunity to present your findings to an audience that includes researchers, engineers, clinicians, and entrepreneurs at the forefront of artificial intelligence and machine learning. The agenda for the conference includes invited keynote speakers, technical talks, an exhibit hall, networking receptions, and poster presentations, as well as add-on workshops.

We invite prospective speakers to submit abstracts that highlight algorithms, use-cases, and solutions that support data-driven discovery and decision-making in healthcare and public health for the next decade. The themes for this year's technical program will be determined based on abstract submissions.

Technical Talk Details

Accepted abstracts will be asked to deliver a 20 minute in-person presentation (including Q&A), as part of the conference program on September 15-16, 2026. Presentations will be recorded and published online on the Ken Kennedy Institute’s YouTube channel. Presenters will need to sign a Digital Release Form. Please do not submit an abstract if you are not comfortable presenting in person.

Abstract Submissions — Due June 10, 2026
Acceptance Notice — July 1, 2026

Submission Guidelines

  • One page (not including graphics, bio, and references as needed).
  • Extended abstracts should contain: title; list of all author(s) with identifying and contact information; short abstract (not to exceed 350 words); up to 5 keywords; followed by short sections covering: (1) Motivation, (2) Hypothesis, (3) Methods and Results, and (4) Conclusion. Please review the abstract template.
  • Extended abstracts must be uploaded as a PDF in EasyChair.
  • The short abstract and the keywords from your extended abstract must also be pasted into the appropriate text box in the web submission form in EasyChair.

Note 1: This conference will consider and can accept abstracts for work that has previously been presented.

Note 2: Presentation proposals that appear to the program committee as “marketing” will be rejected. Abstracts with a strong and compelling customer use-case with the focus on the innovation knowledge discovery enabled by the solution more than the product can be considered. In cases where you think a marketing message may be a concern, we strongly encourage you to partner with a customer and highlight users and relevant use-cases. Vendors interested in engaging are also encouraged to explore sponsorship.

Call for Posters
The next call for posters will open Spring 2026.

Poster submissions are open to students and postdocs from all universities for the 2026 AI in Health Conference at Rice University, hosted by the Ken Kennedy Institute. The Poster Presentation Reception will take place on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
