  • Professors Kaiyu Hang, Lydia Kavraki, and Vaibhav Unhelkar are developing intelligent develop intelligent robotic agents to solve problems in manufacturing, clinical healthcare, transportation, search and rescue, and most importantly agents that will improve the quality of life by assisting in daily activities such as wellness needs and education.  
  • Professors Behnaam Aazhang, Genevera Allen, Richard Baraniuk, Caleb Kemere, Lan Luan, Ankit Patel, Xaq Pitkow, Jacob Robinson, Ashok Veeraraghavan, and Chong Xie form a world-class team collaborating with Texas Medical Center Researchers to improve the fundamental understanding of coding and computation in the human brain as well as to develop technology for treating and diagnosing neural diseases.  
  • Professors Simon Fischer-Baum and Randi Martin champion the field of Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience, studying the relationship between the human brain and cognitive and affective processes, including sensation, perception, attention, memory, language, social cognition, emotion, emotion regulation, and health.  
  • Professors Fathi Ghorbel, Pedram Hassanzadeh, Fred Higgs, Laura Schaefer, Tayfun Tezduyar, and Geoff Wehmeyer promote the cause of Energy & the Environment by using theoretical analysis, numerical modeling, and physics-based artificial intelligence to enhance the electrical power generation efficiency, improve renewable energy including photovoltaic systems and wind turbines, and develop climate prediction models.
