The Ken Kennedy Institute's October Member of the Month: Ramamoorthy Ramesh, Vice President for Research; Professor, Materials Science and Nanoengineering, Physics and Astronomy. Ramamoorthy Ramesh, a condensed matter physicist and materials scientist with more than 25 years in academia, industry, national labs and government service, was named Rice University’s vice president for research on August 15, 2022. Ramesh oversees the institution’s internal and external research ventures, and he partners with Rice’s senior leadership — together with deans, faculty and staff — to bolster the university’s research infrastructure, and propel productivity and impact to new heights.
