2023 Energy HPC Conference

February 28 - March 2, 2023 | BRC at Rice University


Join us for the 16th annual Energy HPC Conference February 28 - March 1, 2023 at Rice University's BioScience Research Collaborative in Houston, TX!

The two-day conference features a remarkable lineup of invited speakers, technical talks, birds of a feather sessions, an exhibit hall, networking receptions, and poster presentations. You can also add on one of three post-conference workshops on Thursday, March 2, to dive deeper into niche topics of interest.

Tuesday's Sponsor Networking Reception will include a specialty wine, cheese, and heavy appetizer selection, with magic and entertainment to complete an evening of connecting with fellow conference attendees and sponsors. Wednesday’s Poster Presentation Reception will showcase exciting research happening in the field by the future leaders in high performance computing. ​Networking breaks during the conference will also feature specialty coffee, a donut wall, and popsicle bar. ​

Distinguished Lecture: V. Balaji

Join us March 9, 2023 for a Ken Kennedy Institute Distinguished Lecture with V. Balaji, Distinguished Fellow at Schmidt Futures.

V. Balaji joined Schmidt Futures as Distinguished Fellow in June 2022 to bring his thought leadership towards new programs in climate and computational sciences. Balaji previously held a 25 year career in Princeton University, during which time he served as head of the Modeling Systems Division at NOAA’s Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory, one of the world’s pioneers in climate modeling, from 2003-2021. He has served on National Academies panels related to climate, computing, and geophysical data, and has been on scientific advisory boards to several US agencies and climate research institutions across the world.
